Felicity Huffman Enters Guilty Plea In College Admissions Scandal

Desperate Housewives star Felicity Huffman recently entered a guilty plea in the ongoing college admissions scandal. The latter occurred in a Boston federal court on Monday and resulted in the actress accepting the charges of conspiracy to commit mail fraud along with honest services mail fraud.

Accordingly, Huffman is believed to have paid an unidentified individual a total of $15K to correct her daughter’s SAT exam as part of a wider scheme which was the college admissions scandal. Felicity Huffman’s plea comes exactly two months after she was arrested for participating in the elite university cheating scam.

Huffman counts as one of the 14 parents who were arrested due to their play in the ordeal. Lori Loughlin (90210) was also intercepted for partaking but claims non-guilt. Yet Felicity Huffman’s guilty plea is set to grant her a lesser sentence. Thus far, prosecutors are considering 4 to 10 months in prison for the TV star, while her plea deal reveals she “will receive a year of probation, has agreed to forfeit the $15,000 and also must pay a $20,000 fine.” The actress admitted to feeling apologetic and insist her daughter was unaware of her actions.

In a statement, the Emmy-recipient shared: “I am in full acceptance of my guilt, and with deep regret and shame over what I have done, I accept full responsibility for my actions and will accept the consequences that stem from those actions.”
