Former Gov Gbenga Daniel Quits Politics…

Former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has written a letter to the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, intimating him of his decision to quit partisan politics.

The letter sighted by our correspondent indicated that Daniel’s resignation takes effect from March 14.

Daniel served as the Deputy Chairman of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council (South) in the just concluded presidential election.

He equally directed his supporters to vote for the All Progressive Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Dapo Abiodun in the last Saturday’s election, wherein Abiodun emerged.

His Media Aide, Steve Oliyide was siad to have confirmed the development to a correspondent of Daily Trust in a telephone chat on Saturday.

“Yes, it true. He wrote the letter”, Oliyide said.

“My decision in this regard is entirely personal to me and having served in various capacities, including as Governor of Ogun State, I have resolved to immerse myself in some other vocations and take on some new challenges,” Daniel popularly called OGD, said in the letter.
